Windsor Castle Located in Berkshire, England, Windsor Castle is the longest and oldest Castle in the world. It was the residence of the families of British monarchs and queens for more than a thousand years. It is the official residence of the Queen, who enjoys numerous private weekends at the Castle.<\/p>\n

It is also a place for private events. The castle is also frequently used for State and ceremonial occasions. The Castle is open to the public and has beautiful State Apartments filled with items that are part of the Royal Collection, St. George’s Chapel (one of the most beautiful pastoral churches in England as well as the burial location for ten royals), and the Queen’s Dolls’ Home, an exquisite miniature.<\/p>\n

Buckingham Palace, Located in London, is the home and administrative base of the monarch’s reign. It’s also where Queen Elizabeth II is often seen performing formal and official duties. Some parts of Buckingham Palace, such as the Queen’s Gallery and the Royal Mews, are open to the public.
