It\u2019s a short drive along Kanan Road to get to Cornell Winery, but it\u2019s well worth the journey. The rustic building looks like something you might find in an old West movie. It\u2019s surrounded by vineyards and a large lawn, where you can sit and sip the wines of your choice.<\/p>\n
Inside, the winery\u2019s curated collection features boutique local Coastal producers from LA to the Central Coast, with a focus on the Santa Monica Mountains. You\u2019ll find some 50+ pieces of art by local artists, artisanal edibles and even some kitschy wine gadgets (we recommend getting one).<\/p>\n
The tasting room also has a curated list of local beer and cider. The winery is open seven days a week and offers tours, a special Friday night karaoke and Sunday yoga and mimosas.<\/p>\n
Founded by actor Tom Runyon in 1970, the Old Place has a unique character that\u2019s hard to miss. Its weathered wood walls and porch are reminiscent of a frontier saloon, with a 20-foot bar and five booths that seat up to eight. It\u2019s a great spot to hang out with friends and enjoy some delicious wine, but don\u2019t forget to grab a bite to eat at The Old Place Restaurant next door.<\/p>\n

Malibu Wine Safari is a popular day trip that attracts visitors throughout the year. This wine tour involves getting into a jeep and driving around the 1,000-acre Saddlerock Ranch and Vineyard to experience the scenery, animals and of course a tasting of some delicious wines.<\/p>\n
The most popular tours include the Explorer and the Giraffe tour that allows guests to feed Stanley the giraffe, but there are several other options as well. Some of these tours are a little more expensive than others, but you can also buy a variety of tickets and try different ones as you like.<\/p>\n
I recommend this tour for families and people who want to have a unique experience and see animals up close. The guides are very fun and knowledgeable. They make you laugh and are super informative on the animal life, the history of the land, and the wine that is made there. They also let you take photos and they have some great locations to take them as well!<\/p>\n
There are a lot of tours available so it’s best to plan ahead and get there early so you can get the exact tour that you want. You can do a wine tour, a giraffe tour, or a wine and safari combo.<\/p>\n
We took a 90 minute Explorer tour and Gabby, our guide, did a great job of explaining the land and the animals on the property as well as giving us some background on the family that owns it (spoiler alert: they are incredibly wealthy). She told us about the filming locations at the property, the famous weddings held there, and also walked us through the famous art installation on the property.<\/p>\n
Our tour included 6 wines and some small bites that went perfectly with our tastings. We had a great time and we would definitely do it again!<\/p>\n
The Safari is a great way to spend an afternoon, especially if you are looking for a fun experience with friends or family. We recommend going on a tour of the property and the safari.<\/p>\n
